Today, i bore witness to a kind of weakness.

This only serves to emphasise on the fact that I have already known since the first emotional cut I received;
Each and every one of us are hypocrites.

On the surface, we all seem like cheerful bubbly personalities. We all lead happy lives, we smile.
On the surface, everything is all fine and dandy, we all love each other to bits, we appear to be saints.
But what isn't visible to the naked eye, are the currents running underneath it all.

"Air yang tenang, jangan disangaka tiada buaya."

Loosely translated from the Malay language, "Though the water is calm, don't assume that there isn't an alligator lurking underneath."

All the spite, all the misplaced hatred, all the negative and shallow thoughts, all the judgemental fools.
The facade hides it all.
But every time a back is turned, things turn nasty.
"Fine" is never just fine. "Fine", is a lie, regardless of gender, contrary to popular belief that only ladies use this word in a different manner.
It's never just "fine", there is always something more, and more often than not, it's not a good thing.
You'd have to know how to dig, and dig deep, then slowly tug it out of the person bit by bit.
That's when you will probably realise that "fine", isn't just "fine". You also probably got more than you bargained for.

Zoey mentioned that everyone wears a mask.
All the negative feelings, all the raw honest feelings, are quickly swept under the carpet, hidden from scrunity, and what is portrayed instead is the wholesome image of happiness.

"Setinggi-tinggi tupai melompat, akhirnya jatuh juga."

How apt.

I got tired of it, my mask has been off for quite awhile now.
Sure, I don't paint a pretty picture but at least you can be certain that what you see, is what you get.

People learn. I learnt. Not in the most ideal way, but the point is, I learnt. And I grew up.

What's taking the rest so long ?
